I purchased cat6 ethernet cables for my tztouch2. Is this ok? Will there be a difference in speed? Or should I just stick with the cat5

Cat6 should work just fine. I would recommend to install cat5e instead of just a standard cat5 network cable. Just be sure to install metal (shielded) RJ-45 connectors to eliminate possibilities of noise/interference in the network.

I bought cat6 from radio shack. They say rj45 on them...is this ok? I mean I don't know if it's shielded or not I would imagine inside the wire it is? The connectors aren't metal is that ok or no?

No, it isn't okay. It needs to be shielded with metal connectors so the shield connection is passed and the data lines are protected. Doing otherwise may work sometimes but it is a problem waiting to happen. You can run your car with water in the radiator instead of antifreeze and it will work most of the time, but there is normally a day that comes along that will make you regret it.

So John are the furuno cables cat5 ? Cat5e....also which part from furuno should I order...I need the shortest cable available

2 meter network cable - 001-167-880-10
