TZtouch2 high frequency cannot find bottm

Hello. I am just coming to terms with my TZtouch2 and TM265 transducer. All is going fine but today as my first time out in deep water chasing bluenose on pinnacles (in New Zealand). I set the sounder to low frequency and could not find the bottom at any depths over 100 meters. We were fishing in depths between 200-500 meters. The high frequency was working fine in under about 80 meters on the way back in. I tried playing with various settings with no joy.

Is there something simple I could be missing?
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Mgcarr,
By itself the TZT2 wasn't designed to use the TM265 directly, are you using the DFF1-UHD module also?

Thanks for your reply Snips.
Apologies, it is actually the TM260 transducer.

Mgcarr,
The TM-260 normally doesn't come with a Furuno 10-pin connector. Are you using a cable adapter? There are different TM-260's for other manufactures so I am curious the actual Airmar part number for the TM-260 you are using? I would also like to see a screen shot of both frequencies in deeper water if you have one.

Hey Snips
I also contacted the Furuno distributor in New Zealand this afternoon. After a quick email exchange they believe it could be a faulty Airmar transducer. They have a guy coming to my home town this Thursday and we will try and get the boat on the water to run some diagnostics.

I am having trouble answering all your questions as it was the boat manufacturer that did the install. I just know that it was supposed to be an Airmar TM260 that I had paid for. Sorry I do not have a screen shot either.

Will keep you posted with how I get on after the diagnostics have been run.

Thanks again for your input.

Went out on the lake with the technician and diagnostics plugged into the transducer. The test fell within the boundaries so no fault. The max dept in the lake was only 50 meter so testing was not conclusive. I will try and head back over to the coast next week and get into some deep water to test again. I will also get some screen shots when I am out there.
