speed smoothing

I have a MFD12 with a nema 2000 gps antenna.I am having erratic speed readings, I want to add smoothing. The install manual tells how to smooth the non nema 2000 antenna in the 183 port window. What do I do?

Currently using a NMEA 2000 GPS; there is no smoothing feature/adjustment that can be done.

That isnt good!!!!! if I want to know my speed I need to read my old NN1

This is a very frustrating issue. Even our 2002 cheap Garmin had speed smoothing. Can something be done about the Navnet 3D output?

Smoothing is an internal feature (when available) and doesn't change the raw GPS output.
