Navnet VX2 1834C GPS rollover software fix?

It looks like my Navnet VX2 1834C/NT with the latest 4.03 software has the GPS rollover problem and displays a date 19.7 years in the past.

It was not listed on the https://support.furuno.co.uk/en_US/news ... nuary-2022

Does Furuno intend to fix this with a software update? We are in the middle of the remote South Pacific and would really prefer to have a fully functioning navigation system.

Thanks!

Likely the VX2 is using an external GPS antenna such as the GP320B which was affected by rollover. Rollover doesn't affect the GPS data, only the way it interprets the current ZDA (time) sentence from the satellite. If this isn't an issue for you, you can continue to use the product with the funny date or upgrade to a newer GP330B/0183.

Hope this helps, :sail

Thanks for the quick reply!

When I go into Menu/System Configuration/Nav Option/Nav Source Settings, the "Position Source" does say "Furuno BB GPS".

I have the GP-150 and while it's subject to the rollover bug, I will presumably get it fixed at some point.

It appears that the VX2 can use "GP" as a position source. What is the best way to connect the two? NMEA0183? Currently, I do not believe the two are connected because if I select "GP" right now, I do not get position data on my VX2.
