Furuno 38BL 15HR 38kHz 3kW Transducer mounted in hull.

I have a mate that has a Furuno 38BL 15HR 38kHz 3kW Transducer and he is looking at mounting options. He would like to mount it in his fibreglass hull in a wet box type setup. Do you think there would be any adverse effects apart from a bit of loss of sensitivity if he goes this way. Any help would be much appreciated.

as long as its mounted as far to the rear and doesn't have any obstructions forward of it, then it will be great
