Hi everyone,
I’m planning to build a dedicated PC workstation to connect TimeZero Professional to my existing setup:
Does anyone have experience with the hardware requirements for TimeZero Professional? The official specs suggest it doesn’t need much, but from what I’ve seen, TimeZero v5 relies heavily on real-time 3D rendering, so I assume a powerful GPU and plenty of RAM would be beneficial.
I already have a switch for connecting the workstation. I met another fisherman who also uses TimeZero, so we tried connecting his PC to my system for a quick test. We saw that the PC had dhcp activated, we ran the Connection Wizard, which successfully detected all the hardware through the NMEA network.
However, when I tried to “Go To” a mark using the GPS on the NavNet, the route didn’t appear on the PC. Also, when I created a mark on the sounder view on the NavNet, it didn’t show up in TimeZero. Is that normal? I was under the impression that these systems share data bidirectionally, creating a more integrated setup. DO we need to set it up with a specific IP if we have a switch Furuno? Does someone have a manual to connect properly the workstation and see if we can have all as a unique system?
We also tested my DFF3D module, and while it displayed bottom data, the 3D view looked very flat — much flatter than expected for the area, which I know has rocky terrain. Is there any way to increase the vertical exaggeration or adjust the bottom relief visualization? I saw videos on Internet where this view is sper powerful and it´s way more volumetric compared to the experience we had. maybe it´s a config thing?
Sorry for the long post and all the questions — I’m still quite new to the Furuno ecosystem and trying to understand how everything fits together. Any advice or reference to a good setup guide/manual would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much in advance,
