FCV 587 to Garmin 551

I'm trying to connect my 587 to my Garmin 551. Can anyone give me any advice on how to go about it.





Last night I tried :-

Blue (TD-B)/Green (RD-B) from the 587 to the black (Ground) of the Garmin
Yellow (RD-A) of the 587 to Blue (Tx out) of the Garmin
White (TD-A) of the 587 to Brown (Rx in) of the Garmin

- alas it didn't work!

Can anyone advise me on what I should try to get the 587 to talk with the Garmin GPS.

This worked for me on a FCV585 to Garmin 541.

Garmin----------------585
Grey ---------------------------Yellow
Violet---------------------------White
Ground--------------------------Green
