DFF3D Heaving Correction

Inconceivable

New member
Hi, would it be normal to expect the heaving correction on the triple beam to be less helpful than on a 2D sonar? I believe I have them both turned on, and the proper transducer depths, etc entered. My triple beam is always bumpy in waves even when the 2D is not. I assume maybe something with sending out all those beams at angles? Else I've got something set wrong. Thanks!

Are you using the same motion sensor for both sounders?
DFF3D has the option to use a satellite compass or the transducer's built in motion sensor.
Other sounders rely on the satellite compass.
If they are not both using the same sensor, the difference would be expected. Ensure that if you are using a satellite compass that the offsets have been properly set so that the compass and sounder know how to properly compensate.
