Some of the other scan sonar vendors advertise adjusting beam angles so that downrigger balls can be seen while trolling. In a "Furuno environment", how could I accomplish this? Dedicated ducer pointed to the back? DFF3D solution would be nice.

The wide beam width of the DFF3D is port/stbd and is around 12 degrees for/aft. Most folks that want to track cannon balls will locate their transducer aft of their down rigger setup and use a wide angled (for/aft) 200Khz like a 275.
