Quick question here,

Has anyone tried this or can it be done.

Can I hook up a pair of 1kw transducers together in parallel and run them as I would a single 2kw transducer(with the 2kw TAP settings)?

Thanks

Eric

It can't be done. You change the transducer impedance of the transducer by putting two in parallel and have a good chance of burning up the sounder, transducer, or both.

Sounds good,

Thanks for the reply, I won't be trying it then.

EricautotecH,
Johnny is correct in his reply.
However we have many installations connect two transducers of the same frequency to FCV-295, 1100, 1150, 1200 and 1900's using both channels. One of the most common configurations on FCV-1200/1900's is using two 28Khz transducers, one is a 1kw wide beam and the other is a 3kw narrow beam. Since both channels transmit at the same time there is almost no interference. Another trick is to use two of the same transducer and point one to starboard and the other to port. If you change the picture advance to L/R this will produce almost a side-scan picture so you can tell which side of the vessel your targets are.

Snips,

I have a Pocket mount CM 111C LH but I haven't installed it on my new boat yet. That is a really big hole to cut . I am wondering if there is a single frequency Transducer(Just low frequency) maybe 38kh or so , that I can install that is smaller than what I have?
It is for a FCV 295, which I just use for deeper stuff(50-250 fathoms).

Thanks

Eric

EricautotecH,
Look at our CA38BL-9HR. It may be an option for you.
