TZTouch XL – Vertical Stretching When Zooming on Fish Finder View

Hello everyone,

I’m currently using a NavNet TZtouch XL 10x display with a Furuno Sounder DFF3 and a B265 transducer. When we go fishing, I like to keep the fish finder view on full screen with a single frequency selected.

What I’d like to do is zoom in on the last 10–15 meters of the water column while keeping the rest of the screen in full view. The only way I’ve found to do this is by disabling Auto Range, then using pinch-to-zoom and dragging down to focus on the lower section.

However, I’ve noticed that this zoom only scales along the Y-axis, not proportionally along both X and Y, which causes the image to stretch vertically. As a result, the fish arches—especially for predator species—look distorted and are hard to interpret.

Is there any way to correct this behavior? It’s quite annoying when trying to read the sonar properly. Maybe I have a setting misconfigured

Thank you very much for your help!

Best,

I’m not sure about today’s FF as I’m just getting back to Furuno but you used to be able to zoom a specified distance of the water column and move that range anywhere in the column you wanted it. I imagine that option should still exist 🤷‍♂️

hi Captspike thaks for your answer. I haven't found yet in my navnet that option. the only option is to bottom zoom but this is also splitting the display in 2 and havinf in 1 side 100% view + zoomed viez in the left side. I woudl like to have a full screen with the bottom zoomed out but proportionally not stretched in vertical.

I saw it, if you deselect the auto range you can but it only zooms in vertical ( stretching the full image vertically) this is not a zoom for me it´s a stretch. I supose it´s a huge bug?

Did you try using "marker zoom"? That allows you to select a slice of the water column and as I recall, preserves the proportions. For example, you can select the area between 80 meters and 100 meters and just see that section.

I´m going to try Marker zoom but For what I saw it don´t preserve proportions.
I found this video where I see it also stretches vertically so maybe this is normal on a furuno ecosystem? at minute 1.40" you can see what I mean by stretching deforming the scan vertically. it should be done in X and Y axis. the marker zoom on minute 2,24 does not seems to deform but you can´t have that view in fullscreen :(

Hi all. thanks for your advices. I´ve tried yesterday marker Zoom and I can´t choose the whater colum on the right side as I can´t see the zone of water that the navnet is zooming in. i have 2 views ( on the left side the zoom in version and the full vieew on the right but the selection of the part doens´t apear even touching all the possible options. Any Ideas why We don´t have that option? maybe it´s because of the type of transducer? I've added a screenshot of the previous tutorial marking in a red arrow what I don´t see in my navnet.

thanks

Hi everyone. Just a quick update. Yesterday we recently upgrade to firmware version (25.21) of my NavNet TZtouch XL 10x and my 165T-50/200-SS260 DFF3D 50/200 Stainless Combination Thru-Hull transducer.and I double checked that function (marker Zoom) and also the vertical stretching and I continue having that issue. the vertical stretching on Y axis is there ( I don´t understand why the zoom is always done only in the Y Axis it should be proportional to make sure the image is not deformed. A aprt from this I saw that Marker zoom on my case it doesn´t show up the yellow zone to choose the water column you desire to select. is there an option I am missing? it is maybe my transducer that is not compatible with that function? thanks in advance I also add that I have the mudule Multibeam DFF3D too.
