TDID functionality when used with a TZT3?

I'd like to understand the differences between setting up a transducer using selection by model as opposed to using TDID/XID.

I'd be interested in any differences there might be, but specifically, I'd like to understand if TZT3 utilizes the internal transducer temperature information available through the TDID connection, and if so, what does the TZT3 do with this information?

TID is just for ease of setup on the Furuno. The result of settings is the same if you manual pick the model. The internal element temperature information isn't currently used on our sounders.
