Points created vs editing features

I watched a video on YouTube where the guy created a point and was able to add what fish species was caught at that point and other pertinent information. So today before I pulled my batteries for the season I thought I'd edit my imported points using those features. Unfortunately the only thing I can do on the imported points is change the icon (which the selection menu they're so small its had to tell what you're looking at), change the name and color. You could also move it if you wanted to.
Also the menu I'm looking for only applies to the specific spot you are at in the boat at that time. You can't use the cursor to create a point at a specific point and use the same editing features.

It looks like it may only apply to catching at fish at the current position the boat is at. Would be nice to use the same for editing previous points. Pretty sure in the heat of battle the last this you want to do is fill out a bunch of info. Dropping a point and editing it later would be a nice option.
Thoughts?
One other thing I saw on another video you can choose what spots are displayed. Say you're fishing for Tuna not ground fish you could select to show only Tuna points. I though that would clean up a screen.

The Catches list is only populated in real time at the present position when the Event icon is touched at the top left of the screen. It is a separate list from the points list.
However, you can try this. While sitting at the dock or on a trip drop and Catches event at your present position and enter the data. Then touch on the Fish symbol you just created and choose MOVE. Drag the icon to where you caught that fish species and overlay over a point if you have the spot saved by a point. Press END MOVE. It will save it in the CATCHES list.

I figured I could do that but was hoping that it was possible to combine the two. Can you select these points to navigate to later or are they only there for a reference?

You can touch a Catches fish icon on the screen and choose "fish-it". The Catches icons are designed for fishing applications once you get close to them.
