Tap settoings for DFF3

Hi Snips,We are just installing the DFF3 with an Airmar R309 as you suggested. In order to have the widest frequncy range available (28-45 and 130 to 210) what tap settings should I use? The table specifies C for for the low and A for the high. Is this correct? The Furuno Tap settings sheet I have for Airmar says I can use D for the high at 150 but don't know if this allos the full range of frequencies.

Thanks,

Rolando

The tap setting doesn't effect the DFF3's frequency range. The Tap setting effects the DFF3's output power. Yes if you are careful you can use a "D" tap setting for 150Khz but you risk damaging the transducer if you forget to reset the tap to "A" if you change the frequency. For the high frequency we choose to list only the "A" tap to be on the safe side.

Snips,

Installed the DFF3 this morning to the TZT and working fine (on dock). The one area we are not sure how to connect are temperature and XID. As the DFF3 is prepared to use 2 different transducers each with connectors for transducer ID and temperature for both HF/LF. The Airmar FAQ on the subject gives instructions but specifies bare wire connection for NavNet 3D with a pigtail being required for other units. Attached are the DFF3 diagram, Airmar FAQ and label on my transducer.

Thank you for your help.

Rolando,
The orange TID (Transducer ID) wire can be connected to either the LF or HF transducer ports on pin-5. The brown and white temperature wires can be connected to pin-6 and pin-7 respectively on either port. Once connected you will need to program the DFF3 where to look for the temperature input, there are three choices LF, HF or MJ. The MJ section refers to the external six pin plug next to the DFF3's power plug. If you had the correct cable you could connect the transducers brown and white wires to pins 2 & 3 to input temperature that way.

Can anyone help with the wiring diagram for the Duruno Air-044-103 Temperature convertor?
The unit I have is missing the 7 pin plug that should be on one of the wires.
I cannot find any connection details on Furuno or Airmar site .
