Sirius XM radio?

I'm in the final stages of configuring a system with two TZT3's and wehave the bbw4 module. I had a Sirius account from a prior boat which was kept active at the minimum level. I've set up the radio with Siriius but can't see any channels? I found this sentence on the Furuno website for the BBW4 - "Requires a Sirius/XM weather service subscription, sold separately".

Do I need a weather subscription to get music through the BBW4?

Thanks,

Lance

If you go:
Home/Furuno - Settings - Initial Setup - Sensor List
Can you see the BBWX4 in the list?
Even without a subscription their advertising channel pops up and plays audio.

Thanks @FishTech, I got this sorted out yesterday afternoon. I was trying to control it through Fusion, instead of Sirius. That was on me. Seemed intuitive to go to Fusion to try and change channels.

Yeah, not a fan of that setup. I would rather control my stereo sound through the stereo not have to turn on a display to change the station when sitting at the dock. Also not a fan of the fact that now my audio is being piped into the head unit through old school RCA jacks. One of the reasons I haven't added the BBWX4 to my system yet.

Agreed. BBWX4 sound quality of Sirius radio output is horrible. All other inputs the sound is great, I placed a cd player into the AUX! input and it played clearly, same input connected to BBWX4 audio output was horrible... Need a solution

Older thread but adding info due to one of the last posts suggesting BBWX4 poor sound quality. My recent install was a BBWX4 with a Fusion BB-100 black box using West Marine 4" compact box speakers. Agreed sound quality from Sirius was terrible, very staticky sounding, initially suspected the speakers but after connecting other sources to the BB-100 I got clear audio. I next suspected the RCA connections as inadequate. However, I was able to play around with the volume controls on both the BBWX4 and Fusion system simultaneously to ultimately get good audio. The magic combo was finding the right volume on the BBWX4 where I got clear audio, which I believe was on the low end of the BBWX4 output, and leaving it there. Then, the Fusion is used as the primary volume control. This got clear audio out of the BBWX4 at both higher and lower actual speaker volume outputs. I am assuming the Fusion has better audio processing capabilities than the BBWX4 which would make the above settings combination make sense at least to me. Your audio system may require a different combination of volume settings. FWIW, the BB-100 is connected to the network of both a TZT9F and TZT12F via NMEA 2k connection, not ethernet.

The BBWX4 like proceeding units only provides "LINE AUDIO" designed to go to amplified speakers or amplifier system (like AUX in on a Fusion). The line audio out can be adjusted in the NavNet using the volume buttons but it is VERY important not to drive this so high that the connected AMP goes into distortion due to over driving the signal. When using something like the Fusion, the fusion volume control should be your main volume control. The line audio of the BBWX4 once set should not be changed.

That perfectly explains my experience.

I bought a satellite antenna splitter to send Sirius weather to mfds and send music to fusion in hopes of better sound and better control.
I am almost ready to throw the fusion out and go with. JL or Rockford amp and head unit.

I have a splitter doing the same thing. Not sure which Fusion receiver you have, I have the RA-770. Just applied the most recent update (6.3), and it seems to have fixed most of the issues that I was having with v6.2. My issue was the heard unit was randomly rebooting after the 6.2 update.
