Sea Talk to NMEA Conversion

I want to have my Raymarine ST60 wind and speed information sent to my MFD12. I know I need to connect a Furuno 7 pin connector to my only open data port, port 1.
I am aware that the yellow wire is positive and the green is negative. Will I need to use the bare shield wire in the hook up?

The Raymarine website shows that the E85001 (ST60+ Graphic) SeaTalk to NMEA0183 interface is required to provide NMEA0183 input/output capability. If you have that, simply connect the Raymarine TX+ to the MFD12 Data1 yellow and the Raymarine TX- to the MFD12 Data1 green. The shield wire will not be used on the MFD12 Data1 connection.
