Sc33 and fcv1150

I’ve had a friend take his boat in to have sc33 linked with his 1150 for heave and pitch data and waypoint sharing with a Suzuki (furuno 1971f).

The tech has installed 1x2k2 converter and looks as if NMEA 183 has been hard wired from power cable of Suzuki mfd to the 1150. The mark function is working however there is no heading symbol (squiggle at the top) of the 1150.

Is anyone able to shed some light on this as to what the issue may be and if there is in fact 2 2k2 converters required to share data for both the mark function and heave data to the 1150? As far as I know the sc33 is NMEA 2000…

Thanks :)

The HEAVE sentence is proprietary to Furuno equipment including the N2K converter. They will have to use the IF-NMEA2K2 Furuno N2K to NMEA0183 converter to connect the FCV1150 to get the Heave sentence from the SC33.

Thanks for the reply, as far as I know he has the one 2k2 converter already.

Are you saying he needs 2? One for mark and one for heave comp? That was my original thought but I was wondering if there was a way through the NMEA 183 from the Suzuki mfd which is made by furuno and pretty much the same as a 1971f. Mark function is throwing waypoints to Suzuki mfd but no heave comp on 1150 side
