PG 1000 with TZ Touch 2

I wanted to know if any of the older heading sensors will work with the TZ touch2 i was looking at a PG 1000. will this work with the touch 2? if not which older models will?

The TZT2 needs heading to come via NMEA 2000. You can use an older compass like the PG1000 but you will need to convert the NMEA 0183 data the compass provides over to NMEA 2000 via a data converter. (like Furuno IF-NMEA2k2) Then you connect your converter and the TZT2 to your NMEA 2000 bus and they share data.

thanks for the reply. can I use any NMEA 2000 heading sensor or does it have to be a Furuno brand?

Some sources are better than others but any NMEA 2000 heading that follows the National Marine Electronics Association standard PGN output should work fine.
