NavNet 1 Radar Compatability

Currently have an older NavNet with 6kw open array radar and would like to upgrade the plotter and sounder. Is the radar antenna and existing transducer comparable with the new generation of touch screens or am I faced with a full replacement of all pieces. I only have one display to ru radar, plotter and bottom machine. Thank you in advance.

Your transducer is compatible, but unfortunately your radar is not. The gearbox and signal cable will need to be replaced. However, you could still use the actual 4' array that you presently have on the 6kW gearbox. That will save you close to $1K on a new system.

Hi I upgraded my RDP 139 for the RDP 149. All data does work including AIS.

I do have a 1833C-B radar mounted. On the RDP 149 I only can choose as a radar system the 1834 C (no 1833 listed). The cable connection in the back is compatible however I do not get any image.

The connection seems to be okay and the RDP149 device shows a rotating line. But it doesn't show anything else.
The system reports radar up time. The energy consumption rises 1A (12V) up after turning on TX .

Is this radar fully compatible with the new hardware? Could it be than anything is stuck in the dome? I already reconnected the small video wires. All wires appear to be connected.

Thanks,

Andrew

The 1833C and the 1834C use the same scanner and cable. The only difference is the display unit (RDP139 NN1 vrs RDP149 Vx2)

It sounds like your radar video wire is broken in the scanner cable or the IF AMP is bad in the scanner. I would contact tech support via telephone for troubleshooting.
