Charts for 1934C

In my new to me 2006 boat I have Furuno Chartplotter and radar that seems to be working great other than I don't have charts for my area. The chartplotter is 10" unit and on the card slot on the lower right of the unit it says "NAVnet vx2 Navionics Gold SD" The radar is a 3.5' Open Array. The max range on the chartploter is 48NM so it looks like I have the 1934C model. I can't pull the unit out to get the serial number or model number off the back of the unit, but when I boot the unit up it shows a Program No. of 195002301.06.03

It looks like Navionics Gold cards are a thing of the past, but I see that CMAP is producing maps for the 1934C/NT model. My question can I run these CMAP Charts on my non NT model with a software upgrade on my unit? Thanks in advance!

Yes. If you convert your NAVnet vx2 display to C-Map compatible software, you can use C-Map Max chart chips. You will need special conversion software and a 2GB or smaller SD card to perform the conversion. If you wish to do this yourself, I can send you the appropriate software. If you wish to send it in to our Service Center, please use this link to receive an RMA number and instructions on how to send in your display: https://furunousa.com/en/myaccount/returned_merchandise_authorization

Sent you a DM with the info
I just stumbled onto this thread. I seem to have the same problem; an old Furuno NavNet Vx2 which had an old Navionics SD card in it, but I need different and newer charts.

Would you be able to DM me the same information on switching over to C-MAP?

Thank you!

I have a similar problem. I would like to get new SD cards however I am not finding the correct cards. I would like to update the system and receive new cards for different cruising areas. Are you able to assist me also?
Thank you.

Thank you for your response. I have visited C-map and have purchased their card C-MAP Max. They verified I have the correct unit for the card. After inserting the card, and no effect, and many emails from cmap, they tell me I need to have the supporting software, and I need to contact Furuno. So now back to where I have started. Are you able to assist me? I have over $500.00 invested in 2 cards without any luck. Thank you.

My apologies for high jacking. I had no intention, nor do I understand how or what I did. Again, my apologies.
How do I determine the version of software? I do know the serial number, if that helps.

When the original poster (OP) starts a thread it belongs to them. Normally when you have an issue/question that doesn't assist them with theirs, you would start your own thread and not highjack theirs. Each time you post about your specific question everyone in this older thread is notified dragged along, and they don't always enjoy that. Their focus was on their concern which may or may not be resolved. The full software version is shown when you boot-up the unit or run the display unit self test. Once you get your version number, it would be helpful if you open your own thread to continue any troubleshooting/discussions.

Since we've re-opened this thread anyway, I should follow up my earlier posts to say that Furuno was very helpful in getting me the firmware update to convert my old Furuno NavNet Vx2 to use C-Map cards, and walking me through the update.
