Nav pilot500 wiring help

Hey guys I’m looking for a little bit of help here. What I’m trying to do is hook up my GP 32 to my NAV pilot 500. I’m not sure exactly how they would wire together. I would like to be able to put a waypoint in on the GP 32 and then have the nav pilot 500 drive to that way point. I was told that I will just wire the GP 32 in on the port that says Nmea 1 In/out but when I did that I still was not getting my location on the Nav pilot screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks guys

The GP32 can output either RS422 or RS232, you must ensure that the wiring data you use is the same as that type of the Navpilot 500. If you used RS422 on both, maybe try using the RS232 ports on both units to see if that works for you better.

Would you by chance have a wiring diagram of how I should wire this. What slot on the auto pilot should the GP 32 wires go to and what colors and in what order should I put them on it.
