Nav pilot 300 calibration

Help! Trying to calibrate Nav pilot 300. On sea trial (manual-with 3-4 turns as described in book), I get to 50%, and then it stops.

What am I missing?

Thanks!

To be clear you are attempting to calibrate the compass not the pilot. The compass distortion calibration requires that you complete the circles in under 2 minutes. The ideal circle is 1.5 minutes. You keep turning until it reaches 100%. If doing it correctly and it won't complete; then there is too much distortion in that mounted location for the compass and it should be moved to a more appropriate area.

Thanks for that response! Since then, I decided to upgrade to the Scx20 compass. I like what it has done for the chart plotter!

I was able to change the heading input, but am still showing "Point 1" (Lowrance) for other inputs. I've been back through the setup, but just can't figure it out. Each time I start up, it says "Input changed".

Is there a reset I need to do? How do I make the changes permanent? Does the Scx20 need a calibration run?

Thanks!

There are data sources that need to be properly be setup in the pilot installation. After adding the SCX20, you would need to go into the pilot installation mode and set the SCX20 as your primary heading source so the pilot will use it. No the SCX20 needs no calibration.
