Hello,
I have 2 chart plotters of 10 ‘4 navnet vx2, connected by the network port. I have a fax-30 that is connected to a wifi router. I want to connect the fax - 30 to one of the plotters. Can I connect it to a data port ? Is a T adapter for the network port existing ? What is the hardware needed ? I fail to find info. Thank you for your help.

Back in the Vx2 days many used a PC Concepts hub so they could use the round connections but most use a low cost NetGear or TP link switch.

I miss a cable to go with a hub. Is there a protocol to access fax-30 via windows 11 ? I try via rj45 connection (direct to PC & via a hub ( netgear)), enable edge to charge as internet explorer, typing the requested URL in the browser, but can’t even detect it in the local network.

If wiring your network cable direct it must be a cross over cable. If using a newer hub, they are auto sensing so either a straight or cross over will work. One must turn off the items that block communications like antivirus and firewalls. The computer must be set to the correct IP address and subnet mask as explained in the manual. If the PC is addressed correctly it should be able to bring up the internal HTML page from the Fax30 whenever the fax 30 address is typed into the browser.

Hardware :
Fax-30 -> Furuno cable to rj45 -> netgear hub -> rj45 cable -> rj45 to usb adapter -> laptop.

Software :
Edge in internet explorer mode
Settings the ethernet interface as mentioned at 7-5 of the Manual.

It permits me to access the fax30, the problem now is to get data !

Do I need to make a request at the precise time of emission ? I set a timer and will see if I get some weather data tomorrow.

Fax30 can be full time Navtex or full time weather fax. If you want both, you must set up when you want to receive the weather fax on a timer/schedule. It will receive Navtex until the timed schedule and then it will get the programmed weather fax and go back to getting NavTex. It can never do both at the same exact moment in time. Manual covers the details on setting the timer and stations etc.
