MOB1 ais test not showing up on chartplotter

Hi All,

I'm new to this forum (and to the ownership of a Furuno-outfitted sailing cat), but hopeful you all might be able to help.

I recently tested an Ocean Signal MOB1 with mixed results. The DSC test showed up on the vhf (IC-M605) and also on the chartplotter (TZT3).

But when I test the AIS nothing shows up on the chartplotter. I'm using a FA-70 transceiver.

Any thoughts on why this might be or possible solutions I might try?

I reprogrammed the MOB1 in case I entered an incorrect MMSI, but same result. Also, if the MMSI was not correct, would it have worked on the VHF DSC test? In any event, I'm stumped. AIS works on the TZT3 with a FA-70 transceiver, but the MOB1 AIS test is not being picked up.

Update: Initial Setup for the FA-70 has a SART Test RX button that can be switched on/off. When off, the MOB1 AIS test will not show up on the chartplotter. When switched on, the MOB1 test does show up on the chartplotter.

Thanks so much for this. Installed an FA70 over the winter and will be sure to test with our MOB1s.
