MFD12 with Yamaha

I have a MFD12 and about to repower with a Yamaha250XCB and Digital Electronic Steering. Garmin has a "Yamaha Garmin MFD Interface" that allows you interface your engine directly to your Garmin display. Can the same be done with my Furuno MFD12 and if so what's needed?

NN3D (2008) was made before much engine stuff was available. There are a few limited items it will show for engines but it must come in via NMEA 2000. Yamaha has become very proprietary. To show much, the system would need to be upgraded to something newer or get a small NMEA 2000 display for showing the engine data.

I have a similar issue with TZT2 running v8.01 communicating with LF300XCB2 motors over N2K. The MFD sees yamaha on the network and gives me the engine display, but no data. On "navnet_tztouch2_and_yamaha_gauge_information.pdf" it doesn't appear this is a supported model.

Please don't highjack threads. TZT2 and NN3D are different. Motor buses shouldn't be connected to NMEA 2000 buses without a proper engine gateway. If connected with a direct cable it will cause errors and likely damage equipment. Specific TZT2 questions can be posted in that topic area. This older thread is now closed.
