MFD 8 heading line

Should my heading line and the number displayed in the upper right hand heading box be the same? I always thought that the number displayed was the numerical value of where the heading line is pointing. I have noticed that my heading line is 15 degrees ahead of the number displayed. Today for example I was in North up mode steering with the heading line on the North indicator and the heading box showed 345 degrees. This applies to all points of the compass. Is my equipment out of adjustment or is it me that's out of adjustment. Thanks.

It sounds like you might be looking at your course line not your heading line. Your heading line should match your number value in the heading box. (Unless in the process of making a turn then you might see some difference because of smoothing of the data)
