I am about to purchase a version of maxsea, but I wanted to know if anyone knew if the etr-6/10 box can be connected directly to maxsea using furuno's Navnet/RJ45 ethernet adapter cable?

No, the older analog network sounders like the ETR6/10N (BBFF1) can't be used with MaxSea TZ.
