Loran coordinates

Friend of mine uses Loran TDS. On my tz 2, I switched the units over to Loran but the output was not correct and was not even remotely close to friends.

I’ve also seen someone that had Loran and gps on the nav screen simultaneously. Is this something possible on tz 2?

It is not just about setting the GRIs used in getting the LORAN translation it is also about the correction values. If your friends are using a Furuno unit you need to obtain the exact GRIs and correction values they are using. Because they use the same calculations, they would match the same one you have that information. In regards to seeing both Lat/Lon and Loran numbers, YES you can see them both with either TZT2 or TZT3 systems and newer software. You would leave the unit set to display normal GPS Lat/Lon and then simply turn on the extra Loran display setting found under the GENERAL menu.
