I purchased an old boat and am trying to get these Furuno units to work correctly with each other and the Simrad ap. I have one GD 1900C navnet VX1, one 1710c navnet VX1, a third smaller unit as a fish finder, a Simrad AP24 with an RFC35 electronic compass, and a couple Furuno antennas. I know nothing about these units so I had a friend come over and help me try to figure it out. I only have one map card so we put it in one unit and the land showed up! He set the other unit up to communicate with the network and show the land on the second unit as well. The heading degrees are about 100 degrees off so we manually changed that. Not sure if the heading sensor is even working but I'll look into that. The heading on Simrad is definitely not matching heading on the Furunos' which is a little odd because the brain of the simrad is wired into the Furuno. When I zoom on the main unit from 16 miles to 8, the land shown from the card dissapears. Also, the NMEA check fails and that wire is coming from the Simrad brain. Is there an installation manual that I can read so that I can just start over and set these all up correctly? I'm not sure if the previous owners ever had these working how they should but the installation looks very clean and well organized so that's good. Any help is greatly appreciated, and any advice is welcomed. Thanks, Frank.
