Help Furuno FCV 588

Good morning guys, I have a fcv 588 and it works great only if I'm surfing slowly, above 10mph it gives a lot of interference, even with very low gain. A friend has the same probe and the 20mph works perfect without any interference only shows the shoals and no interference. Note: The TVG is on high, so I can only see fish but they are slow sailing.

Sheltonnovais,
Thanks for the screen shot. However because you using the sounder in a single frequency shifted mode it doesn't provide really any useful information. A sounder/transducer doesn't really care how fast you are going, only that it has a smooth flow of water going over the face of the transducer. Your screen shot isn't showing any gaps in the sea floor so that is positive. Do this, default the settings and post another screen shot showing both frequencies. If you are in 100m set the range from 0-400m with the gain set at 5. What I am looking for is if the noise has a pattern to it. If it does, the noise is electrical in nature.

slowly it works perfectly, plus navigating it shows all such interference.

My transduce is B-260

result of the photo above, but I have to be very slow, already my friend finds the fish sailing at 20mph and I do not, only slowly almost stopping.

Sheltonnovais,
I will wait to see the screen shots I asked for. It would also be nice to screen shots at 0, 5 and 15 knots.

Looks like turbulence,

Unfortunately all the photos that you provided you did not follow the instructions that Snips asked for. We need to see photos of both frequencies with no shift. All the screen shots that you posted have a shift and the fish finder is only looking at the bottom 10 meters. Please take off the screen shift, show dual frequency mode. Then please post the photos seperatel explaining what one is at 5mph, what one is at 10mph, what one is at 15mph, what one is at 20mph.

Do you have a photo of the location of the transducer and how it is mounted?
