GP 33 Update Software from version 1.03 to 2.04

Hi, I have a GP-33 with the software version 1.03. I would like to know if it's possible to update it directly to version 2.04, or if i have to first update it to a previous version

Cannot go direct. Need to go to v2.02 first, then v2.04 second.

That link and software is coded dealer only due to the it being problematic to update. It isn't end user friendly. The unit would normally need to go to a dealer or the Furuno service center to be updated. I will send you direct link to the older software and hope that all goes well for you.

I was trying to update my GP-33 earlier this week as well and struggling. It turns out I am on version 1.01.

Johnny Electron, can you share a link to the 2.02 intermediate upgrade with me as well?

Hello.
I couldn't order a 10-pin cable from Furuno. Furuno USA and Europe were very helpful, but they couldn't provide the pin numbers.
So I ordered an Amphenol connector with a cable end, but the cable colors are different.
After a lot of searching, I found the combination: white, green, and blue, connected to the 9-Dsub connector, 2, 3, 5, 4-6, and 7-8.
Then via 9-Dsub USB to my laptop, com1, 4800 baud.
I ran Furuno upgrade, which went from v2.02, v2.03, to v2.03.
I also have v2.05, but I didn't install it because there's no documentation for it.

Hi am in the same stiuation. My GP 33 is still on v 1.01. I have purchased the 10 pin cable on Ebay, and the necessary rs232 bit. Johnny Electron, would you also please share the updates required to get me to 2.04? (FYI i have download the 2.04 update that is publicly available already, so I just need the intermediate stuff)

many thanks. A follow up question on the update instruction. they say in item 4 of the instructions to "Disconnect all NMEA 2000 items from the GP 33". does this mean remove everything else from the N2K network except power? essentially making a mini N2k setup just to power the gp 33? Otherwise I'm not sure how to power up the GP 33 which is required for the update process.

Hi, I just wanted to bump up my last question above. for doing the updates, the instructions state to "diconnect all nmea 2000 items".
does this mean just remove other nmea 2000 items from the network? Or does it mean to disconnect the GP 33 nmea 2000 data wires (white and blue), so only power gets to the gp 33 through nmea 2000 port?

It means there should be no other NMEA 2000 items on the bus other than what you are attempting to program.
