FI-5001 data to NMEA2K via FI-501

My sailboat has an FI-5001 wind transducer and an FI-501 display, both are working great. However, the wind data is not available to any other devices via NMEA2K. The FI-501 has a NMEA2K port on the back. Is making this data available to my other devices as easy as connecting a NMEA drop cable to the FI-501? Or do I need to make any changes to the FI-501 settings first? Reading the manual there's many pages discussing setting a terminal resistor at a junction box. However, I'm not certain I have a junction box (or at least I haven't found it yet) so I'm unclear if this terminal resistor is something I need to find/set.

Thanks!

The junction box (FI5002) is not required if you have an existing NMEA 2000 backbone onboard. Same with the software selected termination resistor. If your FI-501 is currently functioning properly then the data should be output once you connect to an NMEA 2000 network.
