Will the new chirp transducer - SS or B175HW (high frequency wide beam) work on the FCV585/587?

Keenfisho,
We have not tested this combination and probably won't simply because the ACCU-FISH and Bottom Discrimination modes of the sounders were designed to use both 50 and 200Khz.

If we disregard BD and Accu Fish function will it work? I'm concerned because a local dealer is advertising them to be compatible but I'd like clarification from Furuno USA before I proceed.

Keenfisho,
Over the last 4-6 weeks we have received calls from end users on this exact situation. Again the 585/587 was designed to use a diplexed transducer that has both frequencies in the same housing. That being said, would a 585/587 work as a high frequency sounder only without the AF and BD modes if a B-175LW was connected, probably but how well is the bigger question.

I've just been told that Furuno Australia now has them on their price list, listed as a transducer for the FCV585, 587 and 295.

Keenfisho,
Please feel free to contact them on how well they work. Since I have no hard information that I can provide you I would ask to see their side-by-side screen shots of how B-175HW compares to other 200Khz ducers.
