Thinking of FCV 587 & CA-50/200 1T setup. The Japanese website shows CA-50/200 1T setup install in a oil tank, like a M260 setup. Question is how can/will Acc- fish & bottom discrimination work in a in tank setup? Else how can u mount the CA-50/200 1T in a wet face setup???? The furuno website stated CA-50/200 1T provide both Accu-Fish & bottom discrimination!!! I've another option of using TM260, but I fish in 10ft to 330ft waters, basically spend most fishing in 10ft to 250ft, I need/like the wide cone coverage of CA-50/200 1T at 28degree vs TM260's. 19degree!!!!

Any thoughts? Anyone with perform new comparison of real life sonar image of above both setup? And also CA-50/200 1T in hull tank mount with ability to have Accu-fish & Bottom Discrimination works???

Maxima,
Yes the FCV-587/1T will allow both ACCU-FISH and Bottom Discrimination modes.
However you should know that the 1T was designed for a wet face application. Can it be mounted in an oil filled box? Sure, but you will get degraded performance. We have never done a head to head test of the performance loss of a 1T wet face or in a oil filled box. However below is the performance loss of an 2Kw 28Khz and 2kw 88Khz in that test. Note the loss of detail in the second echo which is a key component for the BD mode. The 587 uses both frequencies when using AF or BD so any signal loss on either frequency is not good. Personally I would not recommend this combination in an oil filled box.

Thanks snips, the 2nd photo looks the signal loss is petty apparent. Will stick with TM260' since quite a lot of good feedback so working with fcv587 on bottom discrimination.
