FCV-295 w/ CHIRP transducer

What is the word on a good transducer for the FCV-295 to deep drop 900-1500ft? Are targets at this depth well within the range of a CHIRP 265LH or a 265LM? Are they the right choice to get bottom detail and target recognition at this depth? Would an R109LH/ LM be more appropriate (for the additional cost)?

Sean,
I feel 1500ft is pushing the LF side of the 265 for fish detection. I would lean towards the 109 at it's lower operating range 38-40Khz.

Thanks for the input Snips. In your experience would the low side of the 265 give some level of bottom detail at 1500ft? To at least search for structure. I only have a 24ft boat...the 109 is a donkey!...relative to the 509 clydesdale at least.
Looking at commercial fishing journal articles it looks like a lot of our target bottom fish are in the 600-1300ft range. 1500ft is really at the limit.

Sean,
I think if you were to set the LF side of the FCV-295 at 42Khz and have smooth water flow over the face of the transducer the B-265 will yield useable bottom results at 1500ft.
