I have two questions. Is the FA70 compatible with the GP1971F via N2K?

Second, does the FA70 require an external GPS antenna and integration, or can the FA70 simply receive GPS GNSS data from an external GP1971F via N2K PGN's accross the backbone when transmitting GPS position and other data?
Thank You.

The GP1971F can accept complaint NMEA 2000 AIS like that offered by the FA70 unit.

The FA70 requires the use of the provided GPS antenna. It depends on the understanding of the USCG rules on AIS transponders but it has been viewed as a mandatory requirement to have its own GPS sensor/antenna.

Thank you Mr. Wire. To your knowledge, do all Class B AIS transponders require a dedicated GPS sensor/antenna?

Update:
According to my research, all class B AIS transceivers require a dedicated GPS sensor/antenna.
I'm clear at this point.
