error message FECsettings.exe performed an illegal on MFD12

Should have made a new post not a reply.

My MFD12, new September 2012, gives an error message (FECsettings.exe has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. Program: FECsettings.exe Exception 0xC0000005. Address: 02A94C02.) The MFD12 will not boot up. Could this be having a problem with the Maxsea program/computer attached Ethernet? Have disconnected computer and still will not boot.

It sounds like the unit might have a problem with the internal drive. The Hard drive that holds the maps also holds all your "Settings". My guess is the unit will need to be serviced by your dealer or the factory service center.
