Does this network diagram make sense

Here is my current network diagram. I am considering adding an autopilot and a second plotter or PC running Maxsea.

I want to show Maxsea what I have so that they can provide input on how to integrate their software.

Should I convert the heading output of the PG500 to NMEA2000 for the 711C/OB autopilot? Or utilize the GH2183 which already is on the network?

Only issue I notice is the lack of NMEA mag variation being given to the PG500 so it can be placed into TRUE mode to make the FA150 AIS happy for heading.

For integrating Maxsea software into your network, showing your current setup to their support team could definitely help streamline the process. When considering your autopilot setup, you have two viable options:
  1. Convert the PG500 heading output to NMEA2000: This might provide a smoother experience if you want all devices to communicate on the same protocol, potentially simplifying troubleshooting and network reliability.
  2. Utilize the GH2183: Since it's already on your network, this could reduce extra configuration steps.
If you’re looking into other tools for similar setups or flowcharting your network diagram, Creately might be worth exploring. It’s a helpful platform for creating network diagrams and can support integrations across complex setups.
