Difficulty viewing TZ14 in daylight

After a couple of months living w/ the TZ14 I find that the brightness of the screen is rather less than expected. My previous GP7000F was visible on the dash in all conditions. I have the brilliance turned up and the plotter set for daylight but the screen is rather washed out in daylight. Any thoughts?

Does it improve if you lean towards the display? The viewing angle of your dash looks very low and with a lot of reflection around from a typical whiteboat, the screen can be difficult to see.

I press the power button to bring up the brightness overlay, then twist the knob right or left accordingly.

With that brightness setting all the way up, you should easily be able to see the screen in the sunlight.
