Since updating electronics 3 years ago and going to the DFF3 I have been on the fence regarding updating my R199 transducer that was original to the boat. Finally decided to make the move the R599LM transducer. I am hoping the Medium freq and slightly wider cone is beneficial as well as the higher power at L frequency.
From what I have read the R599 LM is a great compliment to the B175HW which I already have connected to a DFF1UHD.
I would like to make the appropriate adjustments now as I finish my install (5200 takes a while to fully cure) to the DFF3 settings so that when I power up the unit I am as close to dialed as possible. There is a great deal of knowledge on this forum so any pro tips would be greatly appreciated. First off my current tap settings is B and B. I have seen conflicting information online regarding correct settings for the R599LM. I would like to make sure I am giving the transducer full power.
3kw L
2kw M
Any pro tips on Transmit Rate, TVG, Gain offset, picture advance is currently at 1/1.
Since the DFF3 was previously connected to a R199 do I need to do a master reset using dip switch 8?
Thanks,
