Deep sea sounder performance

I do not favor in-hull transducer installations because of their performance loss. That being said, if you want to do one look for a location that is as close to centerline as possible. The reason for this is that these locations generally are lower on the hull and less susceptible to turbulence.

I can install it exactly on the centerline, but think there the hull is little bit thicker. You still recommend the exact centerline (the box will be cut in v shape)? If choose the R299 3kW there will be any performance loss for 500 meters depth?

Yes there will be performance loss. Below is a chart from Airmar that shows round trip signal loss in db vs hull thickness.
