1815 EBL and VRM Line Erase

I have recently upgraded to a Furuno 1815 radar. So far, so good except:

I put EBL1 and VRM1 on the display. Manipulated them as needed except I cannot remove them. Indeed I have read the manual (maybe not correctly).

I use the mode menu. I select EBL. A two line submenu of "EBL1" and "EBS2" is displayed.
EBL1 is selected by default. I press the "Menu/Esc" bottom at the top right. The EBL line continues to be displayed. BTW, the displayed line is EBL1 as I can otherwise manipulate it just fine.

Similarly, I cannot remove the VRM1 ring I have displayed.

What am I missing? Is there an updated needed to the manual? Perhaps I'm just reading the instruction incorrectly?

According to the Manual (The website should have the latest copy), the instructions are as follows:

Press MODE, Select EBL, then the EBL to remove. Press MENU/ESC to erase it and its indication.

According to this, you are doing it correctly, not sure why they are refusing to delete.
If you go into the SYSTEM portion of the menu and run the Self Test, what software version do you have?
