1712 radar unit

Hello,

I am looking at buying a NEW in the box 1712 radar unit.

A couple of questions:
I have dual station boat...can I use additional display in remote location?

Does this unit interface with other Furuno products like GPS, Chartplotter, instrument display?

The 1712 is about 10 years old but if you have a new/working unit it should work fine with your other electronics. The 1712 offers a 6 pin NMEA 0183 port where you can connect up other Nav information like GPS. You would need the optional NMEA pigtail cable 000-154-054 to use the NMEA port. Your GPS source should support older versions of NMEA like V1.5 to ensure the GPS is understood by the 1712.

The 1712 is "REMOTE DISPLAY" ready. This is not a network system like the NavNet but does allow you to connect a remote display. For example, you can purchase the FMD1835 remote display (it comes with a 10 meter cable) that would match up with the remote connection at the back of the 1712 display.
