On a few year old 1623 radar, is it normal to have 2 or 3 low to medium tones, similar to humming, emanating from the radome in transmit mode? It wouldn't be heard over engine noise?

Also, to remove the cable from the boat, would you unplug the 7 (or is it 9?) pin connector inside the radome to pull the cable out through routing holes from the display end?

Can the connector pins be removed from either end of the cable then reinserted after the cable is run without damaging the integrity of the cable?

Some smaller sounds like belt noise, magnetron hum, would be normal. If you think you might have something wrong, it can always be tested by your dealer or Furuno service center. Normally when removing the dome, it is done at the scanner in reverse order as the install from the manual. Removing 9 pin data cable from scanner. If you needed to fully remove the entire unit it isn't uncommon to de-pin the 9 pin connector so you can pull the cable through and then reinsert the pins back into the 9 pin connector in proper order. You can NOT remove the connector or pins from the display side.
