I am replacing my Icom 504 with a new vhf with ais receiving, built in gps, nmea 2000 and I would like to know if it is possible to connect the included microphone of the fm4800 (MIC 4800) directly to the back connection which is for the handset.
Thanks, Rocky Bay

The MIC of the FM4800 can connect to the front connection only. The optional connection at the back is for the optional headset (HS4800) which can connect only to the rear port.

Thanks for the reply. I am replacing NavNet vx2 1834C with tzt3 16f and plan on eliminating nmea 0183. Can I connect the coaxial 0183 connections on the icom 504 to my nmea 2000 network to receive gps? Will connect scx20 and gp330b to the nmea 2000 network. If I can, what is the best way to make that connection?

I thought you were replacing the Icom 504?
0183 can't connect up to the NMEA 2000 bus directly as you would need a device or converter that changes the NMEA 2000 information into 0183. If you are keeping the Icom 504 or just for a few seasons the easy way would be to connect up the provided 0183 output from the TZT16F to the radio. You would turn on the GPS sentence information from the TZT3 in the setup to go out the 0183 port to the radio. (GGA, GLL, VTG, ZDA)

Thanks, I was changing out the Icom 504 but my helm is set up with the vhf above and a left hanging mic will create an obstruction. Trying to look at my best options.
