I've got a 1930 display with 4' open array that came with my boat. There is a 1 meter 9 pin cable that goes into the back of the display in the option slot below the dj-1 connector. i opened the case, and the cable goes to a connector on a small board on the top right hand side of the chassis. this small board has 6 grey wires (hard connected) that run down to connector r45 of the spu-7880 board. it also has another 6 pin connector (blue, grn, yellow, orange, red, brown) that looks like it connects to the deflection board.

does anyone know what this cable is for?

thanks
Joe

Way back when, there was a device (long obsolete) called the RP110. It would allow you to use the radar CRT screen as basic plotter, and then switch back to using it as a radar. Your 1930 radar (currently 22-26 years old) appears to had one connected in the past. Since you can't get charts for the RP110, they most likely disconnected and disposed of it.
