I have a FI-70 display, a FI-5001 masthead wind instrument and a IF-NMEAFI 0183 to NMEA 2000 data converter. The wind direction is showing incorrectly on the FI-70 display. For example Wind blowing directly behind is showing as blowing directly in front. Ie a difference of 180 degrees. Wind blowing at 150 degrees on the starboard side is showing as 30 degrees on the starboard side, ie a difference of 120 degrees. Wind blowing at 120 degrees on starboard is showing as 60 degrees on starboard side, difference of 60 degrees. By extension if it was blowing as 90 degrees on starboard would be showing as 90 degrees on starboard, a difference of zero. Same numbers are indicated on RD-33 as on FI-70. Wire colour joins have been triple checked from masthead unit to date converter. Have spoken to 2 Furuno techs who have never heard of this before. Can anybody help please. Am about to embark on trip from Panama to Tahiti in next 72 hours and would love to have this problem solved while I have internet access.
