Will FAP7002 output NMEA 2000

Hi All,

I have a 711c with FAP7002 utilising a pg500 heading sensor.

Hoping to share data from my fap7002 to my Garmin MFDs, but understand the pg500 uses nmea0183.

Will the fap7002 send nmea2000 or 0183 to the Garmin through the tb11 port?

Yes, it can repeat the heading data out to the NMEA 2000 network but it would require you to go into the NMEA 2000 output settings and turn ON the HEADING PGN (127250) so that it will go out from the pilot. The pilot of course will need to be ON for it to continue to act as the 0183/2000 bridge. If you turn off the pilot heading will be lost to the 2000 bus even if you power the compass directly.

That’s great news! Do I turn on the output settings via the 711c controller or does it require a pc and software to connect to the fap7002?
