Has anyone attempted something of this nature so I don't have to run a GPS antenna on a local machine?

I would like to utilize the chartplotter, but don't know if it outputs anything like that besides nmea0183. I just need a gga string to goto like arcgis, Google earth, or global mapper. Ideally, if I could figure out how to load my own shaded relief onto furuno, I could display all my own multibeam I collected with an R2 on the helm for the boat operator. These are areas that are inland, shallow, and will never have any sort of coverage with bathy charts. I do not have room for another monitor. This is what I'm ultimatley trying to do but I know all manufacturers will basically tell you no because they want to sell chart products. I just want to use my equipment with my data!

I'm not sure those programs are able to recognize the Ethernet language from our chart plotters. We can interface our NAVnet chart plotters with TimeZero software and that would work. Most people use NMEA0183 or NMEA2000 to RS-232 converters to bring in raw NMEA data to computers. That might be the only way to do it, if the programs can grab that information from the computer's COM port.

A serial to ethernet converter will do what you want; look for one with rs422 serial. You have to know IP networking to make it happen.. Assigning IP numbers, TCP and UDP port numbers and servers and that sort of things, in which case your question might be different. But if you have an IT savvy dealer or friend they could make it happen. It would wire between your nmea0183 source and your ethernet network.

Your data might be able to be converted into TimeZero Professional with PBG. Yes, it's another screen on the boat but it's what you ask for.
I use the free teledyne Caris software to convert BAG files into XYZ files for use with timezero.
You might be able to make XYZ files?
I also make my own software scripts to convert XYZ file formats between Timezero and Olex.
It doesn't work to show this custom bathy on the Furuno MFD, but the Furuno syncs nicely with many of the other features of Timezero. The MFD is meant to be simple/easy/reliable and the PC software is meant to be bleeding edge features and extended capabilities of all sort that might never make their way to a plotter.
