Hello all,
I just upgraded the factory installed Furuno AIS FA-50 to FA-70. Everything was straight forward plug-in, except that the FA-70 uses NMEA2000 instead of the Furuno network of the FA-50. I left the Furuno network cable unplugged at both ends.
Everything on the FA-70 is programmed correctly and no errors are shown when using the PC application. The SILENT switch is at TRANSMIT. When I move the switch to SILENT, the FA-70 SILENT blue light turns ON, so the switch works as intended. The FA-70 RX light blinks every so often but the TX light never blinks. All the settings are correct/default as far as I can tell. I can see AIS targets at my TZTL display, but I'm not sure I'm transmitting.
I have not installed the "NavNet Network Sensor Update" as I don't know how to do that. Are there instructions anywhere??? https://www.furunousa.com/-/media/s...are/software/navnet_network_sensor_update.zip
Is the TX light operation normal?
If not, what can be wrong?
How can I confirm I'm transmitting, without asking someone if they can see me?
Thank you!
